Find Emergency ResourcesGLWA’s team members are the backbone of our organization. The success of our regional water and wastewater systems is a testament to their hard work 24/7, 365 days a year. At GLWA, we are committed to investing in the next generation of water guardians through education, job creation, and research-based collaboration.
When you work at the Great Lakes Water Authority, you make a difference in the environment and in your local community. “One water, one team” is more than just a phrase, it’s a way of doing business. Here, you don’t work for GLWA, you work with us.
We know how important it is to have good, affordable health and group benefits. That’s why we offer competitive benefits to full-time employees, providing protection, peace of mind and savings. Whether it’s health care, income protection, retirement savings or other benefits such as the Employee Assistance Plan, we’ve got you covered.
We partner with local area community colleges and organizations to sponsor registered apprenticeship programs that are nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor. These unique “earn to learn” opportunities provide a high-quality career pathway for individuals seeking to learn new skills while supporting the GLWA mission. Over the past six years, we have launched apprenticeships for Mechatronics/Instrumentation Technicians, Water Treatment Plant Operators (Water Technicians), Electricians, and Maintenance Technicians.
At the Great Lakes Water Authority we offer paid internships across our organization. Internships with GLWA provide students and young professionals with real world experience and a glimpse into the premier water and wastewater service provider in southeast Michigan. You can make an impact on your community with an internship opportunity from GLWA.
